 Connemara Weekend 26 Jul 2010 11:25  # 1
Peter,
looking forward to your meet,
weather looks good for it,
hope to head down early Friday morning,
at the moment I have space for other early risers,
John Duignan's meet in Connemara last February really whetted my appetite climbing in the far West,
tent and sleeping bag at the ready,
Cheers,
Joe Reville.

I am heading to Connemara early tomorrow morning. I am hoping to do some hillwalking tomorrow, and may not be at the campsite until tomorrow morning / tomorrow lunchtime, depending on the weather.

I have been in touch with Dogs Bay campsite owner Denis O'Keefe and said that there would be a group arriving from the Irish Mountaineering Club for the weekend. I have said that we expect about a dozen people to be there, but I suspect that there may a few more.

Dogs bay campsite is close to Roundstone. I think its within walking distance, but its a few years since I have been there, and can't remember precisely.

See you soon,

Peter

Details of the campsite can be found at www.gurteenbay.com

Thanks for that Gerry, but I think there might be more than one campsite in Dogs Bay. I have been speaking to a guy called Dennis O'Keefe on 095 35895. I'll try and clarify in the morning, and if anyone any doubts perhaps you could call me on 087 2425649 or Joe on 086 378 1006.

Regards

Peter

It is Dog's Bay Campsite - the one furthest from Roundstone. It is not Gurteen Bay Campsite. We hope to get down late afternoon.

From midday Friday through to Monday the weather looks OK with very little precipitation http://www.yr.no/place/Ireland/Galway/Roundstone/detailed_long.html
