 RSS feed? 06 Mar 2009 12:21  # 1
Is there some way to get an RSS feed off this forum? I'd like to keep in touch but keep forgetting to check the site to keep an eye on whats happening.

And yes I am a member

Regards,

Stephen

Greetings Steve.

After I took over this site 2 years ago I got rid of a load of stuff that I reckoned was buggy and/or not needed and RSS feeding might have been one of them. At the moment I'm hesitant to add new features as I'm working on converting the site to Drupal CMS which seems a lot better than the Mambo we're currently using. I'll certainly put RSS on the wish-list.

Personally, I'm happy to see anybody posting constructively to this forum; it's the IMC committee that decided the members-only bit, so I'll let them do the checking.

Tony.

Good stuff Tony.

The diving club I'm in use Drupal - www.dusac.org - there's some nice features to it alright. Its worth a look for ideas. I'm not the webmaster mind.

climbing.ie uses Joomla! for the mainsite. But really thats pretty much a sideshow compared to the forum which is SMF and a bit more heavyweight due to usage and the way I prefer to layout than the embedded forums than you get with Drupal, Joomla! etc. Just my opinion of course.

OK everybody, the pressure was getting unbearable, so there is now an RSS2 feed available. Just click the icon at the bottom of this page.

If you're reading this and wondering what on earth I'm talking about, then don't worry, you're missing nothing; an RSS feed is just a quicker way to get the latest content from the website straight to your browser without having to visit the site.

Any problems, let us know.

Tony.
