Indoor meets - slideshows etc.
Most Thursdays during the dark winter evenings one of our members (or a
guest) presents a slideshow, to which everybody
is welcome. The venue is upstairs in the Teachers' Club (Club na
Múinteoirí), 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin, at 9.00 (for 9.20 sharp!) with drinks before

This was a very mixed party in terms of age (25-70) and experience, the objective was to explore and climb in a relatively unexplored area of the Garwal. There was no fixed objective, so no clear success and failure, and we had a fallback trek for those who didnt wish to climb or those who didnt acclimatise. |

I will be showing pictures taken between April 2009 and January 2010 in
Austria and South Tyrol: Rock climbs on Peilstein and Hohe Wand, Via
Ferratas in the Sexten Dolomites and Hohe Wand, Alpine Routes on
Grimming and Dachstein.

I'll be talking about three /climbing trips to South Greenland. The first two in 1968 and 1971 were serious "expeditions" to the unclimbed peaks at the head of Tasermiut Fjord; the third in 1993 to the island of Sermersoq was for geriatrics - but we still made some first ascents.
